Hi Iya Ekos ! Welcome back to Iya Eko. Today's post is dedicated to the Yoruba Bride. In the next couple of posts, I will share with you different look book from different tribes / culture. I have decided to do this series of blogs so that different Iya Ekos from different culture looking for what to wear on their big day / engagement can have access to different bridal look book from their own culture. The Yoruba culture is so rich when it comes to the traditional wedding. In most cases, the bride is always the centre of focus on the wedding day just like in any other culture. Yoruba towns include places like Ogun, Osun, Oyo, Ekiti etc. The one thing that unite all this places together as regards bridal look is that all the brides from all the yoruba regions wear the IPELE (shawl/scarf) and the GELE (head gear) no matter how posh or modern the traditional wedding or engagement is.
GOLD & PASTEL
gold is such a rich colour and it universal too. If I am been honest, I never thought that gold will mix well with pastel. This look is so fresh and modern and this yoruba bride is killing this look.
TURQUOISE & SILVER
The mix of turquoise and silver on my next yoruba bride is gorgeous. I love the unexpected pop of colour on the lip, i.e the red lipstick. This look will go so well with nude lips too.
YELLOW & GREEN
Yellow and green reminds me always of unripped bananas and ripped bananas, they mix so well and my next yoruba bride does this look justice. She is so stunning
WHITE & WINE
For this selection, I have two yoruba brides as I couldn't decide which one of them to go with. They are both very gorgeous in their mix of white and red.
White is a classic colour and mixes well with just any colour.
Like I said in the white and wine selection above, white mixes well with all colours. Let's have a look at a few....
MINT & WHITE
PURPLE & WHITE
GOLD & WHITE
I love the take on this yoruba bride. She went all monotone with her look, i.e she wore blue from head to toe even on her nails. One of my favourites.
TOUCH OF YELLOW
Yellow like the sun is such a sweet colour . The colour brings a little bit of sunshine to any bridal engagement look.
YELLOW & PURPLE
YELLOW & SILVER
Let's see more Yoruba brides
Yoruba Iya Eko brides to be, I hope that with this post I have been able to make your life easier with my selection of youruba bridal look .
As you can see from all my selection above, the one thing that was visible in all the bridal look is that all the bride have their GELE and IPELE on.
If you are getting married soon, I wish you all the best and all the love in the world.
I will speak to all soon. Until then, Stay Fabulous.
